In a heartfelt tribute to Robert Coltart, the author of the cherished children’s lullaby ‘Ally Bally Bee’, a collaborative effort spearheaded by Christine Grahame MSP, alongside local historian Graeme McIver, Councillor Fay Sinclair, and Awdri Doyle, aims to commemorate his legacy. Despite Coltart’s impact on Scottish culture, his grave in Eastlands Cemetery, Galashiels, remains unmarked. To address this, a Crowdfunder campaign seeks to erect a headstone, celebrating his contributions.
This campaign is more than a gesture of remembrance; it’s a community-wide celebration of a figure whose work continues to enchant. Support from local businesses and the wider community is encouraged, to not only honor Coltart’s memory but to also reflect on the broader significance of local history and culture.
